ST. JOHN’S LUTHERAN CHURCH

Type: Civic/Public/Non-Profit
Client: St. John’s Lutheran Church
Location: Spokane, Washington

St. John’s Lutheran Church had been in downtown Spokane for decades, but the neighborhood had evolved, and accessibility was increasingly difficult for the congregation. This resulted in the decision to sell the downtown property and relocate five miles south to an area experiencing residential growth. The new15,000 SF facility designed by MMEC includes a Sanctuary, Fellowship Hall, Administrative offices, and four classrooms. Prominent features from the old church were salvaged and reused in the new building, including the copper steeple, stained glass windows, light fixtures, and interior furnishings to reflect much of the look and feel of the old church.
